Chelsea will be fined £25,000 by the Football Association for receiving more than six bookings in last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at West Ham.
The Blues will also be asked for their observations on three disciplinary incidents that occurred in last Saturday’s game.
An FA spokesman on Monday stated that the £25,000 fine will be automatically implemented as 7 Chelsea players had yellow card in the Premier league game and the fine is usually invoked when 6 players in a team are booked, Nemanja Matic was booked twice increasing the number to seven.
Jose Mourinho was sent off at half time after a heated argument with the referee while his assistant Silvino Louro was sent off during the first half after Nemanja Matic was shown the red card.
The defeat leaves Chelsea at 15th on the log table as the Blues suffered their 5th league defeat this season.
